How it is calculated

flow (L/h) = emitters × emitter flow
water (L) = flow × time
mm = liters / m²

1 mm of irrigation equals 1 liter per square metre. Common emitters are 2, 4 and 8 L/h (0.5, 1 and 2 GPH); pressure-compensating emitters keep the flow steady when pressure changes.

Frequently asked questions

How much flow do 200 plants with two 4 L/h emitters need?

1600 L/h, which is 1.6 m³/h or about 7 GPM.

How much water does one hour of drip apply?

With lines 1 m apart and 4 L/h emitters every 0.5 m, 8 mm per hour.
